Webinar | Online Copyright Education Center Update and Discussion
March 8, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Over the past year, Columbia University Libraries Copyright Advisory Services, the Copyright Office at the University of Michigan Library, and an advisory group of world-class experts piloted a new online copyright education center with classes on copyright issues and management. Our vision is to inform and empower our community, recognizing that copyright and related issues are foundational to our networked, digital world and emphasizing equitable access to reliable, relevant, understandable information. Across museums, libraries, archives, research, scholarship, and education there is a convergence of copyright issues, their impact on day-to-day and strategic decisions, and the distinct ways in which copyright turns up across these sectors. The aim of the initiative is to address these points of convergence. This session will discuss the lessons learned from the pilot, next steps, and what will be offered for late spring 2022 and beyond. Join us for an update on our pilot and our work toward a sustainable service model. We invite conversation and feedback.
- Gain insights into the current state of copyright literacy
- Receive information about how to access these trustworthy new educational resources to become empowered
- Share feedback that can help shape the future work of the initiative so as to gain maximum benefit
